Something feel off about your remodel?
Maybe the price jumped halfway through. Maybe the timeline keeps slipping and nobody will give you a straight answer. Maybe the work just doesn't look right, and you're not sure whether to speak up or stay quiet.
Here's the thing: you don't have to figure that out alone, and you don't have to stay stuck.
Ask your local trusted contractor. That's us — and this blog is where we'll answer the questions homeowners are really asking.
Why we're doing this
We've been building and remodeling Denver-area homes since 1986 — 40 years, three generations of one family, BBB A+ with zero complaints ever filed. In that time, we've heard from a lot of homeowners who were already mid-project with someone else and worried.
They didn't want a sales pitch. They wanted a straight answer from somebody who does this work every day.
So here it is: if you're in the middle of a project with another contractor and you want a second opinion, we'll give you one. Free. No pressure, no strings.
When to ask for a second opinion
You don't need a disaster to ask. If any of these sound familiar, it's worth a call:
- The price changed. Change orders keep appearing, and you're not sure they're fair.
- The schedule slipped. Weeks go by with no crew, no call, and no new date.
- The work looks wrong. Crooked tile, gaps, finishes that don't match what you were promised.
- Communication dried up. Your contractor stopped returning calls or texts.
- Permits or code worry you. You're not sure inspections are happening or work is up to code.
- You're being pushed to pay ahead. Big payments demanded before the work to match them is done.
- The scope keeps shifting. What you agreed to and what's happening on site no longer match.
If your gut says something's off, that's reason enough to ask.
What we'll look at
Send us photos, or tell us what's going on, and we'll give you an honest read on:
- Whether the price is in line for the Denver market
- Whether the workmanship looks right for the stage it's in
- Whether the timeline and payment schedule make sense
- What questions to ask your contractor — and what answers should sound like
- What your realistic options are, including finishing the job right
We won't trash-talk the other contractor. We'll just tell you the truth as we see it, the way we'd tell our own family.
What if you want us to take over?
Sometimes the answer is that the project needs a new crew. If that's where you land, we'll tell you plainly whether we can step in and finish it — and what that would take. Sometimes the right move is staying put with better information and a firmer conversation. Either way, the advice is free and the decision stays yours.
How to ask
- Call 303-improve and say you want a second opinion.
- Or use our Get a Quote form and write "second opinion" in your message — attach photos if you have them.
We'll get back to you with a straight answer. That's the Wes-Tec way: honest work, honest words, and a home you can feel good about.
